Current Commissions In Progress

I love it that councils are increasingly embracing community lead artworks.  Whether this is through workshops, community consultation, feedback sites, festival days or however they wish to get the information that can inform an artist what they should and could be creating that will benefit the locals.  In the next few months I will see the end of a commission that has been hovering for a while and then took a very different direction.  This will be Long Distance, a whale tail installation in Shellharbour (NSW).  The two playful whale tails will be covered with images of the seas and oceans that the humpback whales swim through on their annual migration past Shellharbour.

And in the closest distance a bunch of 2 metre tall feathers are flying their way to Townsville for the Strand Ephemera exhibition in July.  This will be the 6th or 7th time I’ve exhibited in Ephemera.  Always a nice sunny break from Melbourne winter and this time I won’t be having to fly back to lockdown!
